Summer School: from the “Oxford of the East” to Regenstauf campus

19 students of Savitribai Phule Pune University in India participated in a 4-week training program at Eckert Schools International

Regenstauf. From microcontrollers to 3D-printing to robot technology:  19 young students from India got a very special intensive training in July 2019. The teachers of Eckert Schools International focused on the fourth industrial revolution and gave important insight into the course of development so far, as well as into different consequences of this development on individual working areas.

The students were excited to see that it was not dry theoretical learning about the internet of things, smart production processes, project management or leadership that was waiting for them, but “blended learning” in high-tech learning labs on Regenstauf campus. In a top modern experimental facility they could experience “live” what terms like “production on demand” or “batch size 1” mean. For further practical insight, the international students did some field trips and got the opportunity to look over the shoulders of specialists at Krones AG, Siemens AG and Läpple Automotive Ltd.

After four weeks full of professional as well as cultural insights and impressions the students went back home to Savitribai Phule Pune University, which is one of India’s leading universities located in Pune on the west coast of India. The university hosts 46 academic departments. It is also widely known as the “Oxford of the East”, as it has 307 reknowned research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges. Also, many international students can be found on the 1,6 sqm (4,1 km²) campus.
