Vocational Education Training in Germany

You are considering a Vocational Education Training (VET) in Germany?  You have found the perfect partner with Eckert Schools International!

We will provide guidance and consistent support on your training route, from certificate recognition and application, throughout the actual training course, to career entry. You may even attend a higher education or university course in Germany later on.

In Germany there are two ways to train a profession: you can do a so-called dual training or attend specialised vocational colleges. Trainings in Germany usually last between two and three and a half years.

Dual Training:
The so-called dual training system focuses on a combination of theory and training embedded in a real-life work environment. As a trainee in the dual system, you typically spend one or two days per week at a vocational school and the others at a training company, or you may spend longer periods at each place before alternating. At the vocational school, your teachers will impart relevant theoretical knowledge which you can immediately apply at your training company, for example by taking on tasks in production or administration.

College-based Training:
You acquire theoretical and practical skills at specialised vocational colleges. In addition, there are longer periods of practical training during which you will do internships in field-related companies and put your knowledge into practice.
