A New Chapter in International Cooperation: First Sino-German Mechatronics Technician Cohort Officially Launched in Lishui

A significant milestone for the international educational cooperation of Eckert Schools: On September 23, 2026, the first Sino-German cooperative program in Mechatronics was officially inaugurated at Lishui Vocational and Technical College. The launch of the inaugural cohort marks a new phase in the long-standing partnership between Lishui Vocational and Technical College and Eckert Schools. 

The opening ceremony represented far more than the beginning of a new study program. It symbolized the shared commitment of both institutions to preparing young people for the challenges of a globalized labor market and providing them with new professional opportunities. Building on years of successful cooperation, the new program represents another important milestone. At its core is a practice-oriented educational model that combines proven elements of German vocational education with the needs and realities of Chinese industry. 

Building Bridges for the Future 

Representing Eckert Schools, Andrea Radlbeck, Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing, emphasized the importance of international educational partnerships in an increasingly interconnected world. The students of the first cohort are the pioneers of an educational initiative that combines technical expertise with intercultural competence, creating essential foundations for the skilled professionals of tomorrow. 

The new program combines the strengths of German advanced technical education with the requirements of modern international industry. Aligned with the Bavarian curriculum and supported by German experts, students gain access to advanced technologies, practical teaching methods, and internationally recognized qualifications. 

Andrea Radlbeck summarized the significance of the occasion: “Today marks not only the beginning of a new program, but also the start of a new chapter in the cooperation between Lishui Vocational and Technical College and Eckert Schools.” 

From Vocational Education to an International Degree Program 

In his keynote address, President Peng Bing reflected on the successful development of the partnership. Since 2023, both institutions have worked closely together to introduce German vocational training standards and dual education concepts. The newly launched Mechatronics program is the result of intensive joint development and represents another highlight of Sino-German educational cooperation. 

He particularly emphasized the role of the students. As the founding cohort, they are not only participants in a new program but also pioneers of an innovative educational model who will actively shape the future of Sino-German vocational education. 

Pride and Motivation in the First Cohort 

Student representative Dai Yuehao expressed the pride shared by the students in becoming part of the first Sino-German cooperative cohort. At the same time, he highlighted their awareness of the responsibility that comes with this role and their determination to contribute to the success of the program. 

Particularly inspiring is the opportunity to obtain not only a Chinese college degree but also a German qualification in mechatronics, opening attractive international career prospects. The students are determined to use this opportunity to strengthen their technical skills, improve their German language proficiency, and develop into internationally minded professionals.

With the successful inauguration of the first Sino-German cooperative program, Eckert Schools and Lishui Vocational and Technical College are sending a strong signal for international educational cooperation and practice-oriented workforce development.
